GENERAL POSITIONS
QS / CONTRACTS MANAGER (Ref. 1008-1/GEN)
We are looking to recruit an experienced QS / Contracts Manager to look after all commercial and contractual aspects of the Companies operation. This person should be professionally qualified and experienced in construction contracts.
Key responsibilities of the role will be as follows:
• Review commercial content and evaluate contractual liabilities on project bids.
• Assess risks and implement effective risk management of project commitments.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and fair play administration.
• Liaise with Project Managers to review projects’ commercial status and prepare valuations.
• Conclude final accounts, and provide support to Credit Control department regarding queries.
• Control sub-contracts in conjunction with Project Managers; including evaluation and approval of Sub-Contractors.
• Implement company policy to resolve contractual issues efficiently and professionally.
• Manage adjudication in the event it is required.
This person must be highly motivated and embrace our company reputation for good service and professionalism. As a long term goal, it is envisaged that this person could develop a small team of Estimators.
This is a staff position, based in our Barrow-in–Furness office, although occasional travelling throughout the UK for meetings and project support will be necessary.
Salary is negotiable, 39 hour working week finishing Friday lunchtime, 25 days annual holiday plus statutory holidays & BUPA medical healthcare insurance.
POWER SYSTEMS & RENEWABLE ENERGY DIVISION
Due to a major expansion plan and a growing workload we are currently inviting applications from ambitious and self motivated engineers with sound project engineering experience to join our Power Systems Division. These posts will be based in South West Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District and offers excellent prospects and an opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK with first class amenities and outdoor activities.
Work will involve some travelling throughout our projects within the UK and Ireland.
ELECTRICAL PROJECTS ENGINEER (Ref. 0508-1/PWR)
Due to the continued expansion of our Renewable Energy Division we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer, preferably with experience in high voltage systems. Applications are invited from Engineers qualified to a minimum of HNC level in Electrical Engineering and with at least 4 years experience working in a Project Management or Senior Supervisor role. Applicants should be able to work under pressure, be good communicators, and have strong I.T. skills. The post is Barrow based, but will involve some travelling within the UK.
